Main Camp VR

The table can seat up to 20 if you don't mind sitting close.

We do not believe in cushy seating so if that is something you desire you will want to bring your own!

General set up behind the camper is the picnic table, prep and wash table, and campfire with roughin' it seats. Water (Best not to drink this- there is water available on up Fish Lake Road.) is at the taller table and there is also a hose on the ground for emergencies and easy pan washing.

Vertical Ranch: Description of Camp

Honeymoon Hollow: Tent site with room for 8 man tent. Amenities: Springtime stream runs by. Nice hike up to spot. Great for anyone who wants a more remote spot. We often have a tent with air mattress already set up Huge all natural bathroom close by, hiking to Looky Loo is a bit tricky at night. Trail leading to Fawn View.

Fawn View: Tent site with room for up to 8 man tent. Amenities: Lovely little spring runs by year round. Fabulous view, close to main camp. Nice steep hike up the hill from camp. Large all natural bathroom close by, hiking to Looky Loo not advisable at night. Hammock spot with great view included.

Baby Birds Nest: Wall tent site usually set up for summer, could sleep up to 6: Ammenities: Wood stove (warm water and even some cooking possible if you bring a pot!) Go to sleep with the sound of Cle Elum River. Room for small camp table and chairs if only sleeping 4. Queen size bed (Gentry made- Mortise and Tendon) with mattress and bedding available. Great spot for children. Huge all natural bathroom close by, hiking to Looky Loo is a bit tricky at night but doable. The hiking is more gentle to this spot. Road leads on to Trillium Spring

Mossy Goat: Tent site with room for up to 8 man tent. Amenities: Mossy little spring runs by year round. Nice, fairly gentle hike down the hill from camp. More secluded. Large all natural bathroom close by, hiking to Looky Loo not advisable at night, but could be done.

Hammock’s Rest: Spot for hammock style tent or daytime hammocking (extreme sport!) There are 3 spots at Vertical Ranch for this purpose.
Huckleberry Pond: Larger Pond for swimming and playing. Gets lots of sun so bring sunscreen.

The Looky Loo- The potty with a view! Has a place to wash hands and take an open air- cold shower if desired. (Who wouldn’t want that?)

Soaring Eagle Swing you can’t miss it! Great views of Goat Mountain and Paddy-Go-Easy pass.!

Beyond the loo snooze: Hammock spot- on “trail” past the loo are two trees with hammock bolts in them. It is a somewhat shady spot with a southwestern view.

Vertical Ranch Camp: Our “Bless this Lousy Trailer” is camped here. Inside the camper is full cooking facilities: 3 burner stove, compact oven, compact refrigerator, sink and all the cooking and serve ware. Basics like flour, sugar, salt and spices are available. Please let me know if anything is getting low. Bathroom is equipped with a tiny shower, sink, and all the necessary toiletries. We try to keep it stocked with sunscreen, bug spray and band aids and cleaning supplies. The cough! “Master Closet” in the back of the trailer stores coats, and sweatshirts. Help yourself if you need something extra.

The Roost Club Hideout Above the camper in what was previously (and tradition being what it is…) called The Roost Club Hideout and in it is stored our elegant origami swan boat, with life vests for almost any size. There are ropes, possibly fishing poles, bedding (if not already being used), air mattresses, and most important the Dutch oven! There may be a camp stool or chair. We store anything extra up there so if you forgot something check it out we may have it.

For now if you want to reserve a space and time let us know on the gmail calendar or if you do not have that available just give us a call. Our thought is that we can see who is going when, and join in the fun whenever we can, but our presence is not necessary to anyone else having a good time.

You will need to pick up a key from us if you are going to be the first one there…it is a gated community now! (Sorry but I have to chuckle a bit at that.)

Our only request from you:
1. Please be mindful of the neighbors!! We prefer for them to not even know we are there for the most part. They are there to get away from the hustle and bustle too.
2. Please pick up after yourselves, and leave everything clean and in the condition you found it. If you forget where something goes, please place it in the camper before you leave. We understand that accidents happen so please leave a note with us and payment for any replacements necessary.
3. Please put out the fire when you leave, and please obey the burn bans when in effect. Camp stoves are fine to use then, and a small fire in the fire pit next to the water is ok if not left unattended (with us anyway-we don’t know about the Forest Service.). Fines for starting fires are shocking, plus the sorrow it could potentially cause would have a cost all its own.
